Association Updates

President's Message from Amanda Lang

Dear Seattle Kappas,

We find ourselves in a strange and unusual time in the world. First of all, if you have been impacted by the current situation financially, I want to remind you that Kappa is available as a resource. The Foundation has emergency grants to help with sudden, shot-term financial emergencies. They have actively been supporting Kappas across the country impacted, and if you want more information or to apply, you can find more information on the Foundation website. You can also donate to the Foundation on the same page if you would like to help support Kappas impacted by current events.

The Seattle Kappas Facebook group is a great place to interact with local sisters if you want to virtually connect.

We wish you health, safety, and stability in these trying times. Please feel free to reach out to us with any ideas, questions, or ways we can help. Stay Well!

Interested in joining the board?

Please email kkgseattlepresident@gmail.com for more information. We currently have the following open positions on our board and would love to have you join us!  The association board meets about every other month — usually over dinner on a weekday or at a Sunday brunch. We aim to keep it simple and focus on the networking and sisterhood of our group, while having fun working together!

President — Amanda's final year as President was 2020 and we are looking for someone to lead us into the next year. Main tasks include scheduling and leading board meetings, communications with the board and members, attending events, coordinating with Kappa headquarters, recruiting board members, and being our delegate at the annual conventions.

Membership — This role will help build the membership of the association, connect with Kappas that are new to the area, and help with the communication with members that don't use technology.

Secretary — This role performs administrative duties like taking and distributing minutes for meetings, conducting correspondence with other associations and chapter, and ensuring records are updated with headquarters.
