Why Join?

Let’s be honest. When you think of a sorority, you think of women in college. But we vowed to be Kappas beyond our college days and into the lives of families and careers.

Whether it’s to network, make new friends or find someone to support you through parenthood, we’re here and we want to help. Reconnect with Kappa by joining your local alumnae association today.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN THE SEATTLE ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION?

Membership in Kappa Kappa Gamma is for a lifetime! Through your support, you are ensuring the future of the Seattle Alumnae Association. By becoming a member and being involved in our organization, you will have renewed friendships, networking opportunities, and leadership development opportunities.

Your dues support Fraternity programs that benefit all active chapters and associations, Kappa members in local chapters, national and local philanthropy activities, General Convention, Founders Day, and other special events. Specifically, your dues cover:

Per Capita Fee to Fraternity Headquarters

The Seattle Alumnae Association pays a per capita fee for each of its members that goes directly to Fraternity Headquarters to support programs that benefit all active chapters and associations with resources, training, and national programs.

National and Local Philanthropies

The Seattle Alumnae Association works with the Broadview Emergency Shelter, which provides housing and services for victims of domestic violence and their children. We provide donations to help furnish temporary apartments, create Mother's Day gift bags for moms living at the shelter, and host an annual Halloween Party for the children living at the shelter.

We also support Kappa's national philanthropy Reading is Fundamental (RIF) with book drives, reading parties, and supplying books to local schools and organizations.

Providing Pins to Alumnae Members at our Founders Day Celebration

Every year we honor our members who qualify for 50, 65, and 75 year pins at our Founders Day Celebration. The cost of these special pins is covered by our association dues.

Chapter Support for Beta Pi at the University of Washington

We provide support to the Beta Pi chapter and other local Kappa chapters throughout the year, including recruitment and initiation support, scholarship events at the house, and providing Study Treat Bags to members during finals week.

General Convention and Leadership Training

Each year we send representatives from the Seattle Alumnae Association to General Convention and Province Meetings, where they participate in leadership training, attend awards ceremonies, and build relationships with other Kappas throughout the country.
